Synonyms:

Chemical and physical properties: colorless, viscous, transparent liquid. It does not have oxidizing and explosive properties. It is a triglyceride obtained by acetylation of three hydroxyl groups of glycerol.

Use of the raw material: Triacetin has properties that inhibit the growth and development of fungal cells. It is used to increase the flexibility of plastics, in particular in cigarette filters, drug capsules and solid rocket propellants. Thanks to this, it has multiple uses – in the food industry as an emulsifier, humectant, in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries as a drug carrier and in the automotive industry.
