Synonyms: pentaerythritol, tetra(hydroxymethyl)methane, 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propane-1,3-diol

Chemical and physical properties: Solid form, colorless, odorless in the form of crystals. Decomposes at boiling point. Melting point : 260°C. Soluble in water and other solvents.

Application: For the production of alkyd resins, insecticides, explosives, varnishes. It is a component for cross-linking polyesters and polyurethanes.
